Governor Hutchinson Provides Friday, April 30 COVID-19 Update

LITTLE ROCK – Governor Asa Hutchinson provided Friday update on Arkansas's COVID-19 response.

In its Friday update, the Arkansas Department of Health reported 196 new cases; 1,966 active cases; 166 hospitalized, which is unchanged from Thursday; 28 on ventilators, which is down 1 from Thursday; deaths added today, 4, for a total of 5,739; a total of 335,725 cases; PCR tests, 3,516; antigen tests, 685.

The Health Department reported that the top counties for new cases are Pulaski, 28; Washington, 27; and Craighead, 18.

Governor Hutchinson released the following statement on today’s COVID-19 numbers:

“Case numbers continue to remain steady throughout the state. Local health units in all 75 counties have vaccine doses ready to go, and the Department of Health continues to provide mass clinics. We need Arkansans to step up and get vaccinated so we can put an end to this pandemic.”
