Governor Hutchinson Provides Wednesday, March 17 COVID-19 Update

LITTLE ROCK – Governor Asa Hutchinson provided Wednesday, March 17 update on Arkansas's COVID-19 response.

In its Wednesday update, the Arkansas Department of Health reported 325 new cases; 2,808 active cases; 260 hospitalized, which is up 3 from Tuesday; 54 on ventilators, which is down 4 from Tuesday; deaths added today, 14, for a total of 5,507; a total of 327,781 cases; 251,276 recoveries; PCR tests, 6,301; antigen tests, 1,261.

The Health Department reported that the top counties for new cases are Pulaski, 35; Washington, 35; Benton, 22; Sebastian, 20; and Miller, 13.

Governor Hutchinson released the following statement on today’s COVID-19 numbers:

“New cases and testing are nearly identical to last week. Our active cases continue to fall with over 400 fewer than last week. These numbers are encouraging, but it's important we get vaccinated. Be patient and the supply will be increasing.”
