COVID-19 Update From Governor

Governor Asa Hutchinson has just announced the number of COVID-19 cases in Arkansas have increased to 381. There are now 48 hospitalized and no new counties reported.

Looking at the trend in other parts of the state, Gov. Hutchinson said Arkansas could have 3,500 cases within two weeks with as many as 700 being hospitalized.

“My goal is to beat those numbers,” the governor said.

With that in mind, they are planning for an expansion of hospital beds in the state and have ordered 500 ventilators. The governor cautioned that just because he ordered the ventilators does not mean the state will receive them.

The governor went on to remind residents to practice social distancing.

The Attorney General’s office is also currently investigating 25 case of price gouging.
