Malco Theaters to close

Malco Theaters has joined competitors nationwide in the immediate closing of all of its theaters across the South including its drive-in locations.

Movie theaters have been shuttered nationwide in response to the coronavirus pandemic.

While Malco President and Chief Operating Officer David Tashie said they hope to reopen soon. The nation’s largest chain, AMC Theaters announced its locations would close for a period of at least six weeks and potentially up to 12 weeks.

The closures effect all 40,000 plus movie screens across the country.
