The hometown legend... He comes from all walks of life. This week, our Progress 2020 edition of the paper focuses on our legends... the men and women from right here in South Mississippi County who have made a difference in their corner of the world.

The Osceola Times is celebrating its 150th year of business and that means we have recorded the feats of hundreds of legends. So, how did we choose?

We sought your help... asking you to nominate your personal legends. The results were incredible. We discovered legends come from all walks of life. She may be an elderly grandmother willing to step up to the plate; a war hero willing to fight for his country; or a politician who gave tirelessly of his time.

I hope the stories included in this edition bring you joy, inspiration, motivation and hope for the future.
