Seminoles fall short

Wednesday, August 25, 2021

Osceola fell to Nettleton, 14-7, Thursday night in the Arkansas Activities Association Benefit game at Raider Field. The game was full of big plays by both offenses but each team only reached the end zone once in the opening half. The game was scoreless until the 5 minute mark of the second quarter when Raider quarterback scored on an 11-yard run and the point after kick made it a 7-0 game. Nettleton appeared poised to add to its lead a couple of minutes later but the Raiders lost a fumble at the Seminoles 11 yard line. Osceola marched that distance in quick fashion with quarterback Dontaven Littleton scoring on a 20-yard run to tie the game at 7-7 at the half. The second half, played with a running clock, produced only one Raider score to set the final of 14-7. Osceola travels to Class 4A Crossett for the season opener Friday. Game time is 7 p.m. The game will be live streamed on Seminole Nation.
