Joyce Woolverton, 81, of Jonesboro, Ark., and formerly of Luxora, Ark., died Friday, May 28, 2021, at Ridgecrest Health and Rehab in Jonesboro. She was born in Abilene, Texas and was a graduate of Abilene High School and of Draughon's Business College. She loved the Lord and was a member of Luxora Baptist Church. She was very active in her church and was a former Sunday School teacher. She enjoyed doing genealogy of the Spicer family lineage and had a very special love for animals. This love helped her to be involved in the local Humane Society as much as she possibly could. She loved to watch old movies, especially John Wayne westerns and British detective shows. She also loved Elvis Presley. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmothers. As Paul was in the Air Force when they married, she embraced the military lifestyle of traveling and living all over the world. She lived in England and Japan as well as several U.S. states where she enjoyed sightseeing and visiting local landmarks. Later in life, she traveled to Germany to visit Donald and his family and to Syria to visit Marc and his wife. She was an avid reader of history and especially loved reading about Texas history and the British Royal family. This love of reading allowed her to excel at trivia games. She not only knew many of the answers; but was also able to tell the story behind the answers. She had a phenomenal memory. Her memory served her well during her 28 years working at Bugmobile of Arkansas. She never forgot a single customer during those years.
