Love is in the air!

Robert Browning wrote: “Grow old with me! The best is yet to be.” Yes, it’s that time of the year again... Love is in the air.

When I was single, I hated Valentine’s Day. Everyone around me was getting all these great gifts and I would buy myself a big cheesecake. I felt like I was missing out on something. And, maybe I was, but, listen up girls, if you don’t have a Valentine this year, it is okay. Life is full of beautiful things including you and no holiday should make you feel bad.

Valentine’s Day is truly about love and love is all around you. First, and foremost, God loves you and He died on the cross to prove that love. Once you believe that, you can place your trust in His hands. Know He created you in His image and you are worthy to be loved. Begin the journey by loving yourself and everything else will fall in place.

For those women out there who have already found their Valentine remember it’s not about the flowers or candy, it’s about the love that he shows you every day. Is he the first by your side and the first to come to your defense 12 months out of the year? If so, give him a little slack if he doesn’t meet your expectations this one day of the year.

With that said, attention men! Your lady deserves to be treated special every day of the year, but especially on Valentine’s Day. Elizabeth Barrett Browning wrote: “I love you not only for what you are, but for what I am when I am with you.” Remember the kind of man she helps you to be and go shopping. She will be okay without a Valentine’s gift because her love in strong. However, why not bring an extra smile to her face? Don’t let her be the only person at work without flowers. Show her your love by putting out just a little bit of effort. Take a trip to Mid-South Florist or Big and Beautiful! Treat her to a special dinner at the Sandbar Grille. I promise, she will love you even more for your effort.
